Welcome to Sabur Development Foundation

Our Objective

At Sabur Development Foundation, our objective is to catalyze inclusive and climate-resilient development in underserved African communities by demonstrating, de-risking, and enabling sustainable last-mile access to clean energy and water solutions starting in Nigeria and designed for regional replication through strategic partnerships.

Frequently asked Questions?

The Sabur Development Foundation (SDF) is a private non-profit organization dedicated to solving energy and water scarcity in underserved communities.

Our primary operations are currently focused in Nigeria. We prioritize rural and peri-urban communities where access to stable electricity and clean water is most critical.

We specialize in renewable energy and clean water solutions. Our core projects include:

  • Solar Mini-Grids for decentralized power,
  • Solar-Powered Water Systems (high-capacity boreholes), and
  • Infrastructure Retrofitting.

Retrofitting is the process where we replace old, failed, or fossil-fuel-dependent pumping mechanisms with high-efficiency solar pumps and panels. This restores water access without the ongoing burden of fuel costs.

We work with a specialized technical partner, Sabur Energy Limited, to ensure every installation meets professional engineering standards. Our team handles everything from site assessment to commissioning and final testing.

Sites are selected based on the severity of the water/energy gap, population density, and the community’s commitment to maintaining the installation.

Communities or leaders can reach out via the contact form on this website. We conduct periodic assessments to identify the highest-need areas for our next project cycle.

You can support us through project sponsorship (funding a specific installation), Technical partnerships (providing equipment), or advocacy by following and sharing our impact on social media.
